Finance Project
We began the second semester by learning about exponential growth and decay, interest, and credit card debt. Students applied this knowledge as they researched a financial topic of their choice, ranging from mortgages to stocks to “paying for college.” They presented their newfound knowledge at a Finance Fair which aimed to teach underclassmen the basics of these important financial concepts.

Semester 1
Disease Project
This semester, in addition to learning the basics of functions and reviewing linear and quadratic functions, students have been working with a Disease Model (http://www.shodor.org/featured/DiseaseModel/) to investigate the spread of their fictitious disease. As budding epidemiologists, they are using the model to gather data, generating graphs on Microsoft Excel, and using those graphs to answer several real-world questions.

Linear Programming Project
We have been spending the second part of the semester reviewing systems of linear equations and inequalities, exploring the field of linear programming, and learning about matrices and why they are useful. We are ending the semester with a mini-project that combines linear programming and matrices. All of the project handouts are posted on this page.
